WE DID IT! We met our goal for the 2020-21 school year but donations are welcome any time!.

In the age when public education funding is being squeezed, schools in the Denver Metro area are forced to give money back to the district, lay off staff and cut programming. Yet Southmoor Elementary is able to innovate, create and grow because of how fundraising efforts supplement the school’s lean operational budget.Through your generous donations, the PTO will provide funding to support the cost of one full-time teacher at Southmoor. This means smaller class sizes, which benefits all Southmoor students, and allows our amazing paraprofessionals to reach more students, both in person and virtually!
Your generous support will also fund teacher grants, guest speakers and virtual class field trips this year!

Will you help us keep our class sizes low and provide enrichment experiences for our students?

Every penny of every dollar donated to $upport Our Moo$e goes directly to Southmoor Elementary and your donation is 100% tax deductible.

TESTIMONIALS
“After 13 consecutive years as a Southmoor Elementary family, our youngest is finally moving on to middle school. In this day and age when families hop from school to school in search of perfection, we stayed the course with both of our children for 13 years because we believed that Southmoor Elementary provided a strong foundation in our children’s learning and grade school experiences. Over the last 13 years, teachers have come and gone, principals have changed hands, shifting in academic philosophies took place and even the physical appearance of the building was changed, but through it all, the heart of Southmoor Elementary never wavered. After 13 years at Southmoor, we are sad to leave, but can honestly say our children and our family are better for the experiences we had at this amazing school.”
–Lynn and Rich Wells

“I love the many shapes and forms that learning takes at Southmoor: from traditional classroom, to Passion Projects, to technology-based, to good old life lessons–it’s all here! The leadership is innovative, the teachers are committed, and the community is amazing! Having both a Southmoor alum and a current student, I share with total confidence that Southmoor has supported our family with a solid educational foundation that has helped our children succeed at school, at home and within the community. I’m proud to be a part of the amazing Southmoor Moose Herd.”
–Shannon Mika

“Southmoor has been such a positive place to learn for my children. The commitment from teachers and staff is noteworthy, but so is the devotion from the other families in the school. The community that makes up Southmoor Elementary School is invested. You witness it at pick-up on the grass as parents and grandparents eagerly await the good news from a fun day of learning. You witness this investment when you walk the halls and see so many parents lending a hand and volunteering for the good of the children. This investment is tangible in the dollars raised by our community, which lead to additional paraprofessional support, field trips, and additional learning tools provided to the staff. Two of my children have moved onto middle school in DPS and they were well prepared for middle school because of their exceptional learning experiences. Southmoor is a gem and I am so pleased my children have been able to ground their learning in such a tremendous school.”

“Southmoor is truly an amazing place and I feel lucky that it’s my family’s neighborhood school. We have been part of the Moose community for 9 years. I always loved the “vibe” of Southmoor, but I really had no idea how great of an education Southmoor offered until my oldest took middle school placement exams for math and language arts. Wow! Southmoor not only provided a solid foundation and love of learning, but also helped him create strong habits of mind, which prepared him for ongoing academic success. However, it’s very hard in a large district to get adequate funding for all our school’s learning initiatives, which is why our family gives. We give to supplement the district funds so Southmoor can keep getting better, year after year. We give in celebration of students’ character and achievement. We give because we can, and in honor of those who can’t…because we’re all part of one big moose herd.”
